First Impressions of Humla

Walking up to the gates of the monastery near Yangar, I was exhausted and relieved.  I was feeling a true sense of accomplishment.  I assumed that I would be able to relax for a few hours, and that the following three days wouldn't be all too difficult, since we would not have to hike around to capture the footage we were after.  We had arrived but I was in no such luck. Lots of walking was in my future.

Nepal: Never a Doubt

Leaving wonderful Wenatchee, WA I had all the confidence in the world that I would be able to handle the two day trek to the remote village of Yangar (the village we are featuring in the documentary).  I have hiked for two days in the past, I wasn't counting on a piece of cake, but at least a lemon bar as far as dessert comparisons are concerned.

Nepal: Humla Awaits

You know you're in for a great adventure when natives see your ticket and the unanimous response is "Whoa! Why are you going there? Nobody goes there?!"  Well, apparently we do, but whatever. Just so you have a sense of where we are, Google a map of Asia, zero in on Nepal and put your finger on the most northwestern corner of the country.  That's Humla, where we're headed.
